Today was our last day. Sadly I will not be traveling to Sacred Heart again. I will not be seeing my old friends Irene and Manuel for a while. To my new friends it has been a great pleasure meeting you all. I hope to keep in contact with you. This Advanced Summer Institute has been a great experience. I have learned so much. It wasn’t only the learning it was so much fun and very enjoyable. Our final activity was great. There is a video and pictures so that you can see. The food was delicious. Thank you for the gift. Helping you was a great pleasure. Thank you Myrna and Helen for giving me this opportunity to be here. Thank you Luis for everything you taught me. Miriam and Sandra thank you for everything. I hope we all get together again. See you all. Have a great summer!!!!!!!!!
Poetry Instructional Module
Short story created in PowerPoint using narration
Field Trip to Museum and U.P.R.
My day started in a rush. My husband woke me up at 7:30 am because I had overslept. I was very worried because I was presenting my e-portfolio. Thank God traffic was splendid. I arrived to Sagrado so quickly that I couldn’t believe it. I checked that everything was OK for my presentation. I finally presented and it went really well. Afterwards, my pressure went down, I felt better. Sandra presented and I loved her movie clip. Then Irene, her PP narration was really nice. At lunch everyone ate pizza, except me (I am on a diet). During the afternoon, Manuel and Ruth gave their presentations. Everything was beautiful. We are almost over, just one more day. I am going to miss coming everyday to Sacred Heart.
It was a difficult morning, a lot of traffic. Rosa presented a beautiful reflection. I have been working a lot, almost all day, on the Instructional Module. I don’t know why I’m so perfectionist. Finally I finished, and my classmates, Miriam, Marcia and Sandra were satisfied with the result. Thank God. Presentations began today. They were nervious but the presentations were really great. I loved Carmen’s and Maribel’s PowerPoint with narration. It was a long day for me.
Today my morning was not easy. I had car problems on my way to Sagrado. Thank God I’m almost a mechanic and for the support of my brother I was able to solve the problem and arrive on time. Even though for me it was late because I like to arrive at least 25 mins. early. Luis gave us a very nice reflection and we continue doing our work. Today we had organized a lunch and everyone brought something to share. Lunch was enjoyed by everyone. Then, it was my turn to give the workshop on Visual Basic and I was extremely anxious. Everyone wanted the hippo dance, again, and I told them that they had to dance. They really did dance, specially Irene, Luis and Carmen. Pictures were taken and will be posted on the BWP blog so, don’t miss it. The workshop went fine. There were lots of laughs and even tears. Most of my classmates were able to finish their presentations. I must thank my friend Elizabeth Troche for helping me get prepared for the workshop. Thank you Luis for giving me the opportunity of sharing what I know with others.
It’s been a long week, but Manuel gave us a beautiful reflection today. It made us take in consideration what kind of window are we looking through. How this makes us see other people. I try to keep my window clean so that I will not make mistakes. Today I was so concerned about my presentation of Visual Basic for tomorrow I started my work a little late. It ran OK on one computer, but not on another. I prepared two presentations and hope it turns out well. We worked on Wikispace and the class looked and sound like there were elementary students in it. Luis got mad and changed what he was explaining. Sandra, Miriam and I worked on the Instructional Module. We made jokes and had fun. Hopefuly we’ll finish it tomorrow. We all worked as a great group and helped each other.
I picked up Irene today and we traveled to Sagrado talking. I didn’t need Juan Luis Guerra to stay awake. Luis asked me for a reflection and I told that I had the cow dance. They loved it and Rafaela enjoys these types of reflection so much. It was Sandra’s turn for the reflection and ethnography report. She brought a lovely poem. We continued working on the final touches of Movie Maker and the Newsletter. Sandra and I worked on the Instructional Module. Finally, Luis was able to capture the videos taken on the field trip and now I have to include them in my Movie Maker presentation. This means that I still have work to do. Hopefuly I’ll finish it tomorrow. Another hard working day we had but I have enjoyed each and everyone of them. Oh! I forgot Manuel brought his new laptop so I could see. It is very nice. He made a great buy.
Marialina’s reflection made me think about taking a vacation. I really need it. I have the time and money for it. Yeah, sure! At least my mind can. We worked all day on our Movie Maker clips. We are great producers. I tried to work on my newsletter but my creative mood arrived at 10:15 PM. My newsletter came out OK.
